We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our Fire & EMS team and serve our community when help is needed most.
As a volunteer, you’ll respond to fire and EMS calls at all hours of the day and night—whenever you are available. Whether it’s a convenient time or the middle of the night, your willingness to answer the call can make a life-changing difference.
Join a team of firefighters and EMTs who come together to help people during some of the most difficult and critical moments of their lives. We work as a team to respond to emergencies, provide compassionate care, and find solutions when people need help the most.
You don’t have to be available 24/7 to make a difference. When you are available, you can answer the call.

Paid Staffing
The Polk Jackson Perry Fire District is staffed with one full time person Mon-Fri 7am to 5pm. We are also staffed with one part time person 7 days a week 8am to 5 pm. This staffing helps us cover calls while a majority of our volunteers are at their jobs.
Volunteers
Volunteers are the backbone of the department. Without them, we would not be able to function properly on a majority of fire and rescue incidents. Volunteers are paid on call for the hours they work but respond at their own will. We are totally dependent on volunteer between 5pm and 7 am.
